I would say that I'm quite dedicated to band. It may not seem like it, but I am. I try my hardest in class. I try and follow along with the music, and I don't understand how easily it is for me to lose place. I have to learn to read notes better and faster. I can read them way better now compared to when band first started.
I show up to the required pep bands. I just never want to go to games. I have showed to one volunteer games. I usually don't show up to the volunteer games because I have to work, or I just don't go because I know it is not required and I hate basketball games. I like to participate in the pep bands though. It's a laid back setting, which I enjoy. I think I would deserve about anywhere between a B and a C. I don't deserve an A, because I didn't put in full effort. I would say I put in enough effort to get a B in my opinion. A C would be a good grade for my effort. Medium grade for medium effort. Pep band should be in the band program. The reasons for this is because one: it is a good setting for music. You learn fun songs together and make them sound good. Two: You get to play music in kind of a concert setting without having to wear the band uniform, so it's laid back. Three: The songs are not lame. They aren't boring. My top three songs that I like from our songs we play are, "Wipeout", "Crazy Train" , and " 7 Nation Army". "Wipeout" is awesome because it has fast dums. "Crazy Train" is cool because of guitar, and I admire Randy Rhoads. "7 Nation Army" is just a head bobber. My three least favorite songs we play are "I get Around", "Smoke on The Water" , "lady Gaga Melody". "I Get Around" seems boring to me. "Smoke on the Water" was overplayed for me growing up. I was never a fan of lady Gaga. I really feel like "Master of Puppets" by metallica would be a real intense song to play. The song really is enthusiastic and can get the players riled up. It's a fast pace song, and it is a new direction for a school band to play metal.
