I would say that I'm quite dedicated to band. It may not seem like it, but I am. I try my hardest in class. I try and follow along with the music, and I don't understand how easily it is for me to lose place. I have to learn to read notes better and faster. I can read them way better now compared to when band first started.
I show up to the required pep bands. I just never want to go to games. I have showed to one volunteer games. I usually don't show up to the volunteer games because I have to work, or I just don't go because I know it is not required and I hate basketball games. I like to participate in the pep bands though. It's a laid back setting, which I enjoy. I think I would deserve about anywhere between a B and a C. I don't deserve an A, because I didn't put in full effort. I would say I put in enough effort to get a B in my opinion. A C would be a good grade for my effort. Medium grade for medium effort. Pep band should be in the band program. The reasons for this is because one: it is a good setting for music. You learn fun songs together and make them sound good. Two: You get to play music in kind of a concert setting without having to wear the band uniform, so it's laid back. Three: The songs are not lame. They aren't boring. My top three songs that I like from our songs we play are, "Wipeout", "Crazy Train" , and " 7 Nation Army". "Wipeout" is awesome because it has fast dums. "Crazy Train" is cool because of guitar, and I admire Randy Rhoads. "7 Nation Army" is just a head bobber. My three least favorite songs we play are "I get Around", "Smoke on The Water" , "lady Gaga Melody". "I Get Around" seems boring to me. "Smoke on the Water" was overplayed for me growing up. I was never a fan of lady Gaga. I really feel like "Master of Puppets" by metallica would be a real intense song to play. The song really is enthusiastic and can get the players riled up. It's a fast pace song, and it is a new direction for a school band to play metal.

Concert G minor Scale (0/10)
I did not do this scale on Smart music. I was supposed to come in and do it, and I failed to. I believe I can memorize this one, but I just have no official proof that I know it. Concert C minor Scale (7/10) I don't know this scale as well as some of the other ones. I was wrong on three notes. Concert Eb major Scale (0/10) I failed to complete this scale as well, so there is once again no proof on how well I can play it or memorize it. Concert F major Scale (9.3/10) I don't exactly know how I got a 9.3 out of ten, but I believe I played the wrong note, Concert D minor Scale (10/10) I just memorize it. Concert Bb major Scale (10/10) I usually follow whoever I am next to and I `play along. Playing it on my own is tricky for me. ~As with all the rest of these scales too. I just try my best to memorize them, I am not the greatest at note reading. I can read most of the treble clef notes, yet i'm a guitarist mostly so I mainly focused on that kind of clef notes. Yet even with those it takes me a little while to learn the notes and remember them, I want to learn have to read the notes fluently so then I can stop slacking with the band. I don't want the band to reflect on one player that is lost, so I'm going to try my hardest to learn the notes and play with the band at a steady flow. Notes are my downfall and as a musician I regret saying that, but truly it is, but once I learn them and remember them, I'm sure my playing will reflect.
I have never played in an actual group with reading music and such ever before. I always wung it, and now I am excited to process in my group playing. I want to read music fluently, and play the music to the right time. As I have said before, I never have so this will be a good challenge for me. I always wanted to push myself to see of I could play with an actual band, and I hope I can and don't let the band down.
Major and minor scales share the same key signature.
The first impressions on the song, "Rejoice The Season" I thought it was quite simple. I still had a little bit of problems with the sleighbells. I have never played them before, and I believe my problem is staying on tempo with everyone else, and following along.
The 9/11 Ceremony went pretty well I think. I beleive everyone did good, but reflecting just on my actions I would say that I messed up a few times. I honestly do not believe I was all the way ready. I should have payed attention way more, and I should have remembered everything Ms. Chase said, yet remembering things hasn't been my strong suit. I have trouble remembering things, and especially when I'm reading music and I'm not that fluent yet at reading music. On drums too! I've never read music for drums. I always just wing it. In thee ceremoney I could have done a lot better if I were to just remember what Ms. Chase said to do on the drums. I really enjoyed it though. Playing with the band was amazing, and to share music that reflects on the terrible event that happened on that date was just a good way to just share some emotions. Music is a good way to reflect on past events, and even future, so playing music that reflects on what this country is about, and in a way showing feeling and emotion to the listeners.
I'm not very familiar with the bassline clef. I alwas was more familiar with the treble clef. I have to get more used to it. |
